Equipment Page - Page Overview
FollowOverview
The Equipment Page in SpindleLIVE provides a detailed overview of individual equipment, which includes reporting on Scheduled Maintenance, Unscheduled Maintenance, Equipment Activity Today, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Maintenance Labor Hours, Employee Productivity, and Equipment Maintenance Reason Codes. Each will be overviewed further in this guide.
Equipment Page – Overview
This is a live portlet describing the status of the equipment, in real time, for the day.
Below are descriptions of each column header.
- Equipment – Equipment Name
- Scheduled – Shift time the equipment is scheduled to be staffed based on programmed equipment shift time
- Lanes – Lists each lane associated with the equipment, along with current lane status

- Maintenance Downtime – Total Maintenance Downtime (including PMs and Work Orders) for the current day
- Scheduled – Total time (including each individual lane) the equipment is scheduled for production
- Productivity – Total time (including each individual lane) the equipment was utilized for production for the current day
- OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) – identifies the percentage of manufacturing time that is truly productive by measuring Availability, Performance and Quality. However, in Spindle, we focus on the Availability and Performance only, and it is calculated using Availability X Performance.
- AV (Availability) – the amount of Productive Time compared against the amount of scheduled time. Calculated as Productive Time / Scheduled Time.
- PR (Performance) - the overall weighted employee efficiency.
Scheduled Maintenance
This area lists each Scheduled Maintenance (PM or Work Order) task associated with the respective equipment for the previous week. There is an option to expand out each Asset to view Step Instructions, along with any Comments that were made. The defaulted date range (previous week) can also be modified by clicking the down-arrow with in the Date Picker and selecting the appropriate range. Below are descriptions of each column header.
- Asset Make/Model – Asset Name, Make and Model
- Sched Maint Type – Preventive Maintenance or Work Order
- Maint Description – PM or Work Order Description
- Frequency – Frequency in which the PM is scheduled to be performed. Examples of PM frequencies are as follows – Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, Twice-Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually, Annually.
- Status – Current status of the Scheduled Maintenance Task
- Scheduled – Date the Scheduled Maintenance Task is/was scheduled for completion
- Start – Date the task was started
- Completed – Date the task was completed
- Maintenance Workers – Lists Maintenance Worker(s) who worked/completed the task
- Target Labor Time – Target time that the task should take to complete
- Labor Time – Actual time spent performing the task
Asset Step Instructions
The + allows you to expand the detail of the scheduled maintenance task to see specific details.
Unscheduled Maintenance
This area lists each Unscheduled (Emergency) Maintenance task performed during the previous week. The defaulted date range (previous week) can also be modified by clicking the down-arrow with in the Date Picker and selecting the appropriate range. Below are descriptions of each column header.
- Reason – The maintenance incident Reason Code

- Maintenance Worker – List the Maintenance Worker(s) that performed the task
- Equipment Downtime During Production – Amount of time (HH:MM) the equipment was in Pending Maintenance and Down for Maintenance during Scheduled production time, listed individually by incident.
- Response Time – Amount of time (HH:MM) between the equipment was placed in Pending Maintenance (by Production Worker) to Down for Maintenance (by Maintenance Worker), listed individually by incident.
- During Production – Amount of time (HH:MM) the equipment was Down for Maintenance during Scheduled production time, listed individually by incident.
- Off Production – Amount of time (HH:MM) the equipment was Down for Maintenance during Off Production time, listed individually by incident.
- Ext Work Order #/Comments – Work Order # or any Maintenance Worker comments that were entered.
Equipment Activity Today
This area lists each Scheduled (PM) Maintenance and Unscheduled (Emergency) Maintenance task performed during the current day. Below are descriptions of each column header.
- Reason – The Reason Code for the Maintenance Incident
- Employee – Lists the Maintenance Worker(s) that performed the task
- Total Downtime – Amount of time the equipment was down, listed individually by incident.
- Start Time – The time the task started
- Lane – Lane in which the task was performed. NOTE: Lane 0 indicates that the entire piece of equipment had a Maintenance Task performed
- Requested By – Lists the Production Worker’s name that requested the maintenance (i.e. placed in Pending Maintenance status)
- Response Time – Amount of time (HH:MM) between the equipment was placed in Pending Maintenance (by Production Worker) to Down for Maintenance (by Maintenance Worker), listed individually by incident.
- Incident Type – Type of Incident (i.e. Preventive Maintenance, Work Order, Unscheduled Maintenance)
- End Time - The time the task ended
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
This area provides trending for the following KPIs: Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Performance (PR) and Availability (AV), Unscheduled Maintenance, Scheduled Maintenance, Production Downtime and No Demand.
Trending data for Unscheduled Maintenance, Scheduled Maintenance, Production Downtime and No Demand can also be viewed by selecting any (or all) of the below grayed out options.
To exclude specific KPIs from the Trend View, simply unselect as necessary. The below example has filtered out Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Performance (PR) and Availability (AV).
Below is a description of each available KPI from which to Trend.
- Unscheduled Maintenance – the % of time that the equipment was down for Unscheduled Maintenance
- Scheduled Maintenance – the % of time that the equipment was down for Scheduled Maintenance (PMs or Work Orders)
- Production Downtime – the % of time the equipment was down during scheduled production time
- No Demand – the % of time that the equipment had No Demand
Maintenance Labor Hours
This area provides the amount of time your Maintenance Workers are spending on the equipment for the date range selected for all 3 tasks. Below is a description of each.

- Work Orders – Scheduled Work Orders
Employee Productivity
This area lists each of the Production Workers that produced on the respective equipment, along with their production efficiency for each of the past 7 days.
Equipment Maintenance Reason Codes
This area lists each of the different maintenance incidents that took occurred, by Reason Code, for the past 13 weeks. The % is the total % of time during the period for all Maintenance types.
- Week 1 – The previous week’s Hours and % of Total.
- Week 5 – The past 5 weeks’ Hours and % of Total.
- Week 13 – The past 13 weeks’ Hours and % of Total.
