Deep Dive: Spindle Alerts
FollowOn the Facility Page, Spindle provides real-time Alerts. These Alerts are designed to help Plant Managers Production Managers, and Supervisors identify issues that need immediate action.
Different Alert Types
Spindle offers many different Alerts on the Facility Page. Below are each of these Alerts and why they are important:
Needs Login – Our team views the Needs Login alert as one of the most important alerts in Spindle. These alerts notify your team when there is a piece of equipment receiving counts with no employees logged in. The alert provides the equipment name, lane, time, and the number of pieces counted without an employee logged in.
If your employees are not correctly logging into Spindle, then not only are these employees not receiving credit for the work they're doing, but the plant also doesn’t receive any efficiency for the overall productivity of the day. If your plant has an excessive amount NA counts, you won't be able to utilize Spindle to its full extent and dive into the data to uncover your plant's biggest opportunity.
Excessive Lunch & Break – One area the most efficient plants focus on, is ensuring their staff is back from break & lunch on time. In Spindle, we have Excessive Break and Excessive Lunch alerts that will notify you whenever an employee has been logged into a break longer than their allotted time.
These alerts will show the employee, the amount of excessive break time for the day, and the total excessive break time for the week. By acting on these alerts, you’ll be able to minimize the time of excessive breaks and increase your plants overall productivity.
Above, the (!) mark indicates a live alert. It's alerting you Ema Doe is still logged into Lunch when she should be back.
Excessive Other Area – Many plants allow their employees to login to ‘Other Area’ for tasks where there are no classifications set up. While not always the case, Spindle has found that many employees will log into this area as a way ‘hideout’. Because of this, we created an alert that will notify you when employees have exceeded the allotted time allowed for the task ‘Other’.
While we have this alert to minimize the possible loss in productivity, we still recommend any task performed more than once have a classification created for employees to login to, giving you the knowledge of here all hours in your plant are being spent.
End Shift Notifications – Sometimes, employees will accidentally end their shift instead of logging into the correct classification. When this happens, they are creating NA counts and aren’t receiving credit for the work they’re doing.
The End Shift Notifications will alert you when employees have ended their shift if they’ve worked less than 7.5 hours or more than 9 hours.
